I’ve been a crocheter for as long as I could remember. I learned how to knit the first time when I was in elementary school all so I could make my dying aunt a blanket. I used my 7 year old body as the sizing for the blanket. I was a very skinny 7 year old. Unfortunately, the blanket never got bigger than a dishcloth both because I was a lame 7 year old and also because my aunt passed on before I could finish it. Needless to say, that whole disappointing experience put me off knitting for years to come.
I don’t know what it was but in October 2007, I got bitten by the urge to knit. I went out to re-learn the skill…made a scarf and put it on the back burner until November 2008 where I picked it up again. I’ve been loving it ever since…going all nerd like to the Knitting Convention up in Santa Clara and everything. This chicks with sticks can’t wait to start a new project now!
